Alberto Donà does simple things, but to great effect. And simple, by the way, is a big word. The work they do in the furnace here in Murano is certainly not easy. The Katia vases shown in the photo are blown works of art. And their manufacturing process certainly doesn’t end there. Do you see that sort of “scales” on their surface? That’s it, those are called “beating” in slang and are obtained by grinding the glass, point by point.
